Kelvin: Optics for smartphones. Focus on What Matters!
Kelvin: Optics for smartphones. Focus on What Matters!

This digital project blurs the lines between the convenience of mobile photography and the power of professional optics.

The secret to colorful space photos is stacking dozens of frames. This used to take hours, but now the technology does all the hard work. The Levenhuk Kelvin Bright STM102 Smart Telescope tracks celestial objects across the sky, captures images, and stacks them in real time. Just look at your smartphone screen and watch fine nebula filaments, spiral galaxy arms, and clusters of colorful stars emerge before your eyes. Get stunning photos without any experience or post-processing on your very first clear night.

Observe and capture images simultaneously

While the guidescope and astronomy camera track and photograph your target, you can look through the main optical tube’s eyepiece to observe the cosmos. Let the camera do the work while you marvel at the beauty of the Universe. Want to capture the Moon or Jupiter up close? Simply move the camera to the main tube and get a detailed shot on your smartphone.

During the day, the smart telescope turns into a powerful spotting scope. Historic building facades, hazy mountain peaks, birds, and ships on the horizon are all streamed to your smartphone in real time. With just one tap on the screen, you can share the shot with friends or on social media.

The sweet spot of the Levenhuk Kelvin Bright series

The STM102 offers a perfect balance of high magnification and excellent detail. It is also the most affordable way to get high-resolution optics with all the smart features of the series. It is an ideal choice for observing and photographing the phases of Venus, the polar caps of Mars, and tight double stars.

Use your smartphone instead of a hand controller and computer

Control everything from your smartphone with just a few taps. Select a target from 100,000 objects in the mobile app, and the smart mount will use its built-in compass and GPS to automatically point to it. Unlike classic GoTo systems, the pointing is not approximate but precise; the object appears right in the center of the frame.

Images are transferred to the smartphone via fast dual-band Wi-Fi, and the internal memory can store up to 8,000 photos. The sturdy steel tripod dampens vibrations, ensuring sharp images during long exposures. When you are ready for more, the camera is compatible with professional astrophotography software, so you can step up to serious imaging without buying new equipment.
