MAGUS CHD50 is a digital autofocus HDMI camera supporting three video interfaces. The camera features an 8MP sensor and produces realistic images in 4K resolution (3840x2160px) automatically switching between 4K and Full HD depending on the resolution of the monitor.
The camera uses an HDMI interface to connect to a TV monitor or projector directly. In this mode the camera operates autonomously without a PC. The HDMI interface provides a high and stable transfer rate from the camera to the external screen. You can connect it to a PC via WLAN or USB2.0. Video is recorded at 30fps.
The camera combines high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI so videos are vivid with no freezes or gaps between frames. At maximum resolution the image is well-detailed moving objects are visible without bugs and object movement is displayed without delays.
The camera is equipped with a SONY Exmor/Starvis backlit color CMOS sensor. This technology increases light sensitivity and improves camera performance in low light conditions. The 1/1.8' sensor with 2.0x2.0µm pixel size provides light sensitivity of 505mV with 1/30s. To achieve the maximum field of view without distortion we recommend using an adapter with a magnification of 0.5x to 0.75x.
In HDMI mode the focusing is adjusted automatically. The auto focus makes it easier to capture clear images and helps you avoid glitches during your presentations.
When connected via an HDMI interface the camera uses built-in software to display images on an external display take photographs record video edit images and measure linear and angular dimensions of samples and their structures. Before taking measurements the software must be calibrated for each objective with a calibration slide.
USB2.0 and WLAN interfaces are used for connecting a camera to a PC. There is software that can be installed from the included CD.
Additional devices support
In order to use the built-in software connect a mouse to the USB port. The mouse control eliminates vibrations that occur when the user interacts with the camera. Instead of a mouse you can install a Wi-Fi adapter into the USB port. It is used for connecting and transferring data to a PC.
Photos and videos are saved to the SD card or the flash stick. The MAGUS product line features LCD monitors that are designed to be directly mounted on HDMI cameras. The simultaneous use of a camera and monitor creates a compact and powerful imaging system for any MAGUS microscope.
The camera is mounted on the microscope in the trinocular tube/camera port using the C-mount adapter (included). To mount the camera in an eyepiece tube instead of an eyepiece you will need a special C-mount adapter and adapter rings (not included) to fit the tube diameter.
The camera operates autonomously without a connection to a PC and software installation via the HDMI interface. Can be connected to a PC via WLAN and USB2.0 interface.
