MAGUS CHD20 Digital Camera

The MAGUS CHD20 Digital Camera is equipped with a 2MP sensor and produces realistic Full HD images at a resolution of 1920x1080px. The camera features high light sensitivity that is suitable for working in fluorescent light. Through the use of R G B primary color mosaic filters low dark current and clear image are achieved.

The camera uses an HDMI interface to connect directly to a TV monitor or projector. In this mode the camera operates autonomously without a PC. The HDMI interface provides a high and stable transfer rate from the camera to the external screen. An additional USB2.0 interface is provided for connecting the camera to a PC.
Video is recorded at 60fps or 50fps depending on the video output interface.

The camera combines high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI and therefore videos are vivid with no freezes or gaps between frames. At maximum resolution the image is well-detailed moving objects are visible without bugs and object movement is displayed without delays.

Sensor

The camera is equipped with a SONY Starvis backlit color CMOS sensor. This technology increases light sensitivity and improves camera performance in low light conditions.
The 1/2' sensor with 3.75x3.75µm pixel size provides light sensitivity of 1175mV with 1/30s. To achieve the maximum field of view without distortion we recommend using an adapter with a magnification of 0.5x to 0.7x.

Software features

When connected via HDMI interface the camera uses built-in software to display images on an external display take photographs record video edit images and measure linear and angular dimensions of samples and their structures. Before taking measurements the software must be calibrated for each objective with a calibration slide.
The USB interface is used for connecting a camera to a PC. There is software that can be installed from the included CD.

Additional devices support

In order to use the built-in software connect a mouse to the USB port. The mouse control eliminates vibrations that occur when the user interacts with the camera.
Photos and videos are saved to the SD card or the flash stick.
The MAGUS product line features LCD monitors designed to be directly mounted on HDMI cameras. The simultaneous use of a camera and monitor creates a compact and powerful imaging system for any MAGUS microscope.

Installation

The camera is mounted on the microscope in the trinocular tube/camera port using the C-mount adapter (included). To mount the camera in an eyepiece tube instead of an eyepiece you will need a special C-mount adapter and adapter rings (not included) to fit the tube diameter.
