Ermenrich QM10 Air Quality Monitor

The Ermenrich QM10 Air Quality Monitor is a handheld instrument for analyzing indoor air composition detecting elevated levels of harmful substances and monitoring the microclimate. It can be used in domestic and commercial settings – offices hotels schools and kindergartens cafes shops etc. but not for industrial purposes – the TVOC (volatile organic compounds) measurement range is 0.0–10.0mg/m3 which is insufficient to detect the higher concentrations that are commonly found in industrial settings.

The device is equipped with four sensors: HCHO for formaldehyde monitoring in the range of 0.00–5.00ppm or 0.00–6.25mg/m3 TVOC for detecting volatile organic compounds a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor for studying the microclimate. It is recommended to check the air for HCHO content after renovations since some furniture paints and laminate can emit formaldehyde. Monitoring TVOC is important for the timely detection of fumes from cleaning products some cosmetics and interior items as well as for detecting a “chemical” smell in new buildings. Microclimate control allows for timely action in order to prevent mold (usually appears at humidity >60%) and create a comfortable environment for allergy sufferers.

The Ermenrich QM10 air quality monitor detects more than 23 types of hazardous gases including benzenes alkanes aromatic hydrocarbons olefins halogenated hydrocarbons esters aldehydes ketones etc. The device has separate alarms for HCHO and TVOC. It is triggered when a certain threshold is passed. It then warns the user with a sound (buzzer) and light. The sound indication can be turned off. The monitor may also report excessively high humidity and temperature.

For proper operation the TVOC sensor must be calibrated upon first use and then every 12 hours. Calibration is automatic. The device will send a notification 10 seconds before it begins and then the zero value is updated automatically. The measurement results are displayed on a large 3.2' color LCD screen. It also displays the time and date making it easy to monitor the hours worked at the location.

The monitor is powered by a built-in 1500mAh 3.7V battery which lasts for 6 hours of continuous operation when fully charged. It is charged using a USB Type-C cable (included) and a power adapter (purchased separately). The device body is made of high-strength ABS plastic and the buttons are made of HTV silicone pleasant to the touch.
