Levenhuk Nelson 8x42 Monocular
Marine monocular. Magnification: 8x. Objective lens diameter: 42 mm
Levenhuk Nelson 8x42 is a marine monocular with a built-in compass and a rangefinder. This optical tool is excellent for the fans of fishing and sea tours. You can easily hold the lightweight, compact monocular with one hand, and even keep it in a pocket of a jacket.
The tool features 8x magnification and 42 mm aperture. A wide field of view (120 m at 1000 m distance) allows you to conveniently observe the skyline. You can even observe close objects at 3 m distance.
The optics are made of BaK-4 glass. The lenses have fully multi-layered coating, causing the tool to transmit a crisp and saturated high-resolution image with minimum aberrations. Eyepiece diopter adjustment is available.
The shell is made of lightweight and durable plastic; you can attach a strap to the monocular. Nitrogen filling protects the lenses from fogging during abrupt temperature changes.
This marine monocular features a built-in compass and a rangefinder. You can see the instrument dials in the eyepiece. There is a special formula for calculations. We recommend performing calculations during the daytime, since there is no illumination. In order to use the rangefinder, you need to know either the size (height) of the observed object or the distance to it. An unknown figure is calculated based on the rangefinder indications.
You can determine the direction to an object in degrees. North is 360°, South is 180°, East is 90° and West is 270°. Compass division value is 1°.
This optical tool comes with a strap, a case for storage and transportation and a cleaning wipe.
We recommend using this monocular with the Levenhuk FS10 Floating Strap near water: the bright accessory will prevent the optical tool from sinking or getting lost.
